HISMSV: Part 2

Tuesday, July 8th, 2008

Okay this may be a pain if i can’t rattle on as much as I want. This is the rest (I hope) of the post above, including Dave Ritz’s sweater:
Mary Ann Posey finished a really pretty tee that used a slip stitch pattern and two different weights of yarn, from the summer edition of Knitter’s magazine:

She’s off and running on a second version in a different color.

Martha Van Kouwenberg knows a lot about knitting and takes classes and does great projects. Now, having said all that, this project is just plain fun. Martha made a Magic Wand from a bunch of different yarns for her grandson – how cool is that? And, of course, a Magic Wand must have a wand cozy to keep the magic intact while not in use. I bet her grand just loves it.

Another project for a little one is this darling little bear, knit and then felted by Tracy Wood. Tracy will add a face and maybe a cute little hat, then some little person will have a treasured toy.

And Zena Hafetz finished this adorable little shrug for her granddaughter and is now working on a pullover for her grandson in the same yarn.

And (now that I’m seeing the photos) I remember that I did finish something – this scarf in seven different colors of Manos Silk Blend is striking and soft to wear. The colors just glow and the kettle-dyed effect that is Manos’ trademark allows all the colors to blend. The pattern is free with yarn purchase. And I have enough left of all the colors to do something fun, but I haven’t decided what yet – I may wait until I see some of the new collections and books for fall.

You can just barely see Jackson at my feet – he is in his favorite rub-my-tummy position.

Okay, enough, I’ll try to post this to the new page and we’ll see how it goes.

Can’t wait to see you!

Trish
