Back from the wilds of the Baltimore suburbs, safe and sound and 2 pounds heavier.  Don’t care, had a great time with my sisters and my niece.  I was indulged completely, with cake, pizza, wine and presents. The food was great – only the cake was “bad” for me.  They made a fabu pizza with loads of fresh veggies on it, fresh mozzarella and a little prosciutto, pizza

(now you’re hungry, right?)

and we had a wonderful Mediterranean tuna salad with artichoke hearts, capers, feta, and olives.  Complemented by fresh homegrown tomatoes, which was my only contribution to the entire weekend.  Now I intend to sign up for Weight Watchers online so that by my next birthday, I will have lost all the weight I gained from this birthday and can do it all over again.

The hated, despised, and loathed seed stitch jacket is done except for blocking.  It weighs a million pounds and I can’t even bear to try it on until things cool down.  Can’t block it till I try it on so I’m shoving it in a basket for now.  Next time I look at it, I’ll probably have forgotten the pain of making it and will love it anew.  At least I hope so.

Also finished Chris Bylsma’s Vlinder Wrap,Vlinder a fun to knit and versatile wrap that can be worn a number of ways. A few cables, a little lace, and the treat at the end – deliberately-dropped stitches!  I knit it in Classic Elite’s Wool Bamboo, which I love and which should be here in about a week, by which time the wrap should be dry.  Perhaps everything will arrive at the shop at the same time, which would probably be a first.  C-E’s design booklets will be here, too, and their collection is, as usual, one of the best I’ve seen.

A shipment from Skacel will be here this week, with new sock yarns, a bunch of cute Artfelt kits (Huh?  What’s Artfelt?) and Pacolana, a yummy, lofty alpaca and wool blend that I can’t wait to get my hands on. I’m not sure what else will arrive, but I’m so ready for new yarn!

That’s all for this week.  My brain is still on vacation so I’ll see you soon…

Trish
