October 20, 2009

Another beautiful day, but frankly, a day when I could barely pull myself together to get out of bed.  I don’t get down too often, but today was just one of those days.  Nothing I did seemed worthwhile, and if I could have run away completely, I would have. Tomorrow will be better but I’ll have to write off this lovely day.

Carol Whitcraft test-knit my Swing Jacket pattern and did a wonderful job:

The pattern is revised and ready for use (I think – I revised it today, and nothing I did today is reliable, so I’ll check again, I promise.)  The yarn in Noro’s chunky Bonbori – really lightweight and wonderful to wear.

Check out David’s sweater (yes, another one!!) below – too amazing.

Karen Walter’s Fair Isle Beret class was this weekend – everyone knit frantically and finished in the time allotted.  Here are two examples of finished hats – still unblocked but very cute nonetheless:

And Patti Barber is almost done with this great shawl with a seasonal theme for October:

She got the pattern from the AntiCraft’s website, just google Bat Shawl.

And here’s my sweet Jettie, who is the Belle of the Blog this week.  Unlike me, when something goes all sour for her, she makes lemonade, or in this case, a vest with matching arm warmers.  Here’s her comment:

“This sweater project was almost a disaster-turned out with the sleeves too tight and arm holes too large. I do not know why – everyone else who knitted it had excellent results. anyway I love the yarn and made the sweater into a vest by adding ribbing to the sleeve holes( after removing the sleeves which I had crammed into the holes) and made the sleeves into arm /hand warmers by adding ribbing to the shoulder end- the sleeve caps are great elbow cushioners!!
I am wearing this at work today and have received beaucoup de complements!!!”

Such a positive response to a problem, right? Thanks to Jettie’s husband Michael for sending the photo – I needed a lift today!

See you soon…
