November!

I have no photos this week, so thank you, Joy and David, for posting your wonderful projects.  It was just too busy at the shop this week to stop and take pictures, even though I saw several I wanted to show you.  And I wanted to show you just a really cute scarf I’m working on using Cha Cha ribbon from Trendsetter.  I’m loving it and you will too, I think, and it will make the neatest presents!  Maybe I can post it tomorrow.

Our dear friend and former teacher Bev Bortner dropped by on Sunday for a quick visit and a rummage through the sale closet.  We miss her so much, but she looks happy, relaxed, and is still the sweetest person on earth.  It was so great to see her.

And speaking of former teachers, Deb Cech taught her last beginner series for us this fall – her real-life teaching job and her many fiber interests and her family keep her so busy that she just needed a break from her commitment to us – and who can’t understand that?  I hope she’ll make a few guest appearances for us and stay connected.  She was my first teacher and has done such a wonderful job of teaching our beginner and finishing classes for seven years!  Janet Kakareka is going to teach our beginner classes starting in January and I look forward to that.  Everyone who knows Janet is aware of her enthusiasm for yarn and knitting, and she has a wonderful ability to impart that enthusiasm to everyone around her.  Deb will be greatly missed but change is inevitable and I feel very fortunate that Janet can step into that role.

Meanwhile, take a look at this link that my (gorgeous, sweet, brilliant) niece Sarah sent me – she thinks it’s a new trend in Manhattan. http://www.shadowplaycollection.com/collection/collection/ Pretty interesting, yes?  I’m going to see her at Thanksgiving – can’t wait!  And I know someone out there can figure out what’s going on with these necklaces and put a class together.  Come see me!

Meanwhile, I’m pretty sure I’m going to my other sister’s next week – it’s her birthday and I’ll finally meet Chloe and Peaches (her two golden retriever puppies).  So, I’ve got a week to do a Napa pullover (was kinda thinking I’d have till Thanksgiving but she probably won’t make it to Baltimore with the rest of us.)  I’m going to go get on with it!

See you soon!!
