It’s A Whole New Year!
Tuesday, January 5th, 2010Do you think it’s childish that I get so excited about starting a new year? It just seems to give me a boost in general, and a renewed energy for the store in particular. Is it because the whole silly year-end shopping/decorating/eating/visiting frenzy is finally over? (Okay, I don’t participate as much as most people do, but it still infects me with hyped-up expectations and an overwhelming desire to eat too many cookies.) Or is it the clean air, or the knowledge that the darkest days of winter are behind us, or just what the heck is it anyway?
Who cares? I love the new year already, and it hasn’t had to do a thing. It’s pure infatuation, while nasty old 2009 has been kicked to the curb. I love moving on, as a mere glance at my marital and occupational history will show.
I’m shopping for spring yarns and finding some irresistible things. Noro has some new stuff and I’m gettin’ it. Berroco has some great new designs – I’m gettin’ them and the yarn. Debbie Bliss has a nice new linen blend – I’m gettin’ it. I’m not forgetting our faves, of course – Classic Silk and Sprout from Classic Elite, Hempathy from Elsebeth Lavold (oh, the colors!!), Queensland’s Pima Fresca, – oh, such pretty things, and it starts arriving – now! Can’t wait to get my hands on it all and show it to you.
There’s some stuff in the camera, but I’m going to run off anyway. Lots of errands to run and the laundry! – well, someone comes into this house and uses my towels and wears my clothes, because I know I don’t get all this stuff dirty.
Don’t miss all David’s fabulous knitting
and Happy New Year…
Trish
