Loads of Photos
First let me say just briefly thanks to everyone who stopped by our sale and made it successful. This coming week we’ll be moving things around to get our spring yarns and models out to the floor and we will have significantly less to move because of you! I can’t wait, so tired of looking at the same sweaters all the time, even though deep down I still love them. All you married folks know what I’m talking about.
Look at this artsy photo of the new Conifer Shawl that Karen Walter just made – there’s a class for it starting in a couple weeks. It’s so pretty, with three different patterns, and done in a worsted weight blend that is cushy but not too heavy. Lovely for spring:
and fashionable when worn swirled around your neck, thusly:
We saw two interesting afghan/blanket projects this week. Carol Whitcraft made this pretty throw using about 10 different yarns in sequence. The stitch is just garter stitch but the interest is in the combination of colors and textures to make a lovely throw. This is while it was still in progress – sorry for the inelegant background, we had just received a shipment and every surface was taken:
And here’s a closeup:
Lynda Slovitsky jumped from beginning crochet right into this Tunisian baby blanket. It gives an entrelac effect and is done similarly, with each block being picked up from previous blocks and worked separately.
Isn’t is fun? And here’s a closeup:
Suzy Crump finished this wonderful cabled jacket, made from a really beautiful color of Venezia Worsted silk/wool blend. You can barely see all the cables and seed stitch because the silk in the fabric reflects the flash, but trust me, it’s a challenging pattern and Suzy did a wonderful job with it.
It fits her perfectly and is flattering from every angle, as you can see:
Melissa Korth finished her Gansey sweater, another triumphant finish! You can see how happy she is, both with how it looks on her (gaw-jus, of course) and that it’s done!
Gloria Moser finished this top-down sweater in a soft spring blend that makes its own pattern. Again, a perfect fit and the color flatter her so much:
Sorry that Gloria looks like she traveling through a time vortex or something, I was trying a new effect and saved things instead of canceling them.
And finally, here is our Belle of the Blog, Christiane Wenning’s daughter, in a very cute and quick top-down sweater for spring, knit in Nature Cotton from a new Knitting Pure & Simple pattern. Isn’t she just lovely?
While they were in, they picked another color for her younger sister!
You’ve probably been wondering why we haven’t seen anything from David on the blog lately. He was in this weekend with the reason. He has embarked on a gorgeous fisherman’s sweater, lots of intricate patterns done in Nature Spun Sport on size 00 Addi Lace needles. He has made unbelievable progress but it won’t be done in the next few minutes. I’m sure we’ll see it when it’s done and it will be a masterpiece.
See you soon…
Trish
