Hi Trish
just finished the Samba sweater… I decided to make short sleeves and eliminate the waist shaping. I thought it may look better since the sweater is more casual. the colours look very festive..

Yarn Jewelry

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

Art on the Avenue was last Saturday and we all cooed over this cute little necklace that David Ritz bought at one of the booths:

Simple and fun, right?

Then David sent me this link http://www.numei.com/crochetpatterns_ladderribbonnecklace.htm which is a free pattern for crocheted necklaces made out of the same ladder-type yarn.  Looked like fun and so I spent maybe 30 minutes trying it out:

Try it!  If you can hold a hook and make a chain, you can make this little piece.  I think many of us have a partial ball of Eros in our stashes (if not, come in and buy some on sale).  Quick little gift, lightweight summer accessory, what’s not to love?

Thanks, Dave, great idea!

A reminder, this Friday (6/25) Donna Guthrie is in from 11 – 1 to help you with finishing whatever project you’ve got going.  Cost is $10/hour, $10 minimum.  Totally worth it, folks, Donna’s just great.

See you soon!

This Is What 112 Pounds of Yarn Looks Like…

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

How fun is that?  These boxes were full of new colors of Sundae, a fabulous stock of Blackstone Tweed, chunky, heathery Peruvia Quick, and their new yarn Borealis.  No books, but I believe they’ll be delivered next week.  You’re going to love the new collections and you can get a preview here.  And while you’re there, sign up for their newsletter, it’s really worthwhile.  Free patterns (and good ones) nearly every week.

Classes started this week, so things were hoppin’ but Janet and I managed to get these boxes emptied and the yarn put somewhere until the designs come in and we can plan some knitting.  Can NOT wait to get started!
