Note: Unless you are taking one of our beginner series classes, please bring basic supplies to class.  They include:  scissors, stitch markers, yarn needle, tape measure, stitch holders, point protectors, a medium-sized crochet hook, a pen or pencil.

Class Policies:  Unless otherwise specified:

  1. advance registration with payment is required to hold your place.
  2. no refunds or credit unless you cancel before the day of the class. We value our teachers' time!
  3. refunds will be in the form of shop credit unless the class is cancelled by Yarn Gallery.
  4. materials are not included in class price.
  5. materials must be purchased at Yarn Gallery.

Beginner Classes - Knitting - No experience necessary

This series covers cast-on, knitting, purling, binding off, different kinds of increases and decreases, pattern stitches, how to fix mistakes, and more.  You'll learn everything you need to get a good start

or to refresh your knitting skills. Then you can move on to the beautiful projects you'll see in our shop and on our blog!

Beginner Tunisian Crochet - No experience necessary

Tunision (or afghan) crochet is very popular.  Learn this versatile technique that allows you to make beautiful fabric without the bother of two needles. You'll make a small project. You'll also be qualified to take our Tunisian Entrelac Shawl class! (see below)

Cable Scarf

This beautiful scarf will teach you how to do a basic cable and teach you how to keep track of pattern stitches and rows.

Intermediate Tunisian Crochet

Skills:  You know how to chain, single crochet and double crochet, simple increases and decreases and have taken the beginning Tunisian class or have recently completed a successful project in Tunisian (a.k.a. afghan stitch).

Tunisian Entrelac Shawl

This is a lovely shawl/reader's wrap that makes the most of a beautiful self-striping yarn.  It is cleverly designed to prevent frequent stops and starts so that the work slows smoothly.  Each section impels you to keep going to see what new color is coming, and the result is just stunning.

Socks are fun to make, portable, and once you wear socks that really fit, you'll never want to take them off! That's what makes them such a popular project and this such a popular class.

Fair-Isle Cowl

Learn the Fair-Isle technique of knitting with two colors at a time and get comfortable with charts.   This is a perfect learning project, because there is no shaping and it moves right along. And, with your choice of colors, it is sure to be beautiful when finished.

Nimbus Knitalong

Nimbus is one of the most popular patterns on Berroco's website.  The jacket looks simple - and the knitting is fairly easy - but there is a lot of sewing up to do at the end.  We dressed it up in a beautiful yarn and modified the pattern in many ways to make it all easier to put together and if you would like to learn how, join our Knitalong.
